Birthday Cake

Jake's milk allergy is somewhat of a challenge in our lives. I wanted Jake to have cake for his birthday. I was lucky enough to find a store that makes one cake that is dairy-free. Wahoo. Chocolate raspberry cake. It didn't taste too bad.

Fort Worth Zoo

To celebrate Jake's second birthday we headed to the Fort Worth Zoo. The weather was gorgeous. Jake was really into the animals - roaring, hooing, waving bye bye to each animal and saying love you. We had a really good afternoon at the zoo. Then we headed to Macaroni grill for dinner.

Birthday Package

This past week the postman dropped off a package for Jacob. It was from his Grandma and Grandpa Black. As soon as I handed it to him and told him who it was from he said very excitedly, "oh thank you!" He received the cutest hat and collection of books. He's really into hats right now. Thanks for the presents!

Grandma Veater's Visit

This past weekend my mom flew in to spend time with us, but lets be honest, it was really to spend time with Jacob. We enjoyed eating out at some our favorites eats, Maggiano's and El Fenix. Dan and I had a much needed evening out on the town sans Jacob. Grandma Veater came bearing gifts for Jacob's birthday. He was given a Tickle Monster Kit. Jacob loves books and he loves to tickle so it was a great combo for him. (thanks mom and dad). Also during her visit we had free tickets to putt putt golf. We did maybe three or four holes and then Jacob was more interested in exploring than golfing. Come again soon mom.
